Hello, Kristin! |
If your 15-month-old has started whining or screaming, you're experiencing his intense desire to interact with you. Children thrive on their parents' attention, and a toddler this age will do just about anything to get yours. When your toddler gets loud or whiny, kneel down to his level and tell him you're listening. If he keeps it up, calmly say, "I can't understand you when you talk like that. Please use your normal voice and I'll be happy to listen to what you're saying." Eventually, he'll get the message. |

AP Turns 15 Months!
AP just had her 15 month check-up, find some updates below...
Weight: 19.4 lbs (5% tile)
Height: 30" (50%)
I just love, love this stage. Ashleigh is amazing and we are having such a fun summer with her! What a little personality she has! Favorite moments/developments so far:
a. She may not say a lot of words, but I feel she is understanding us a lot more. There are certain words or phrases we say and we love seeing her react. If we say, grab lady bug, she will search and walk over to grab him. If we say, go give the doggies a toy, she will walk over to their toy basket, grab a toy and walk it over to Lexi or Porscha.
b. She voices her opinion with us. Some mornings, she will scream/cry when I try to change her diaper or outfit. At first, I thought something was terribly wrong, but it turns out, if she is not ready to get up, she will let you know it.
c. A new game that we started, Flying Monkey, makes Rob and me laugh hysterically. Ashleigh will pick up her monkey pal (a small beanie baby monkey) and throw it out of her crib. We will soar it back to her and scream, Flying Monkey! Sound stupid, it really is. However, she laughs and so do we.
d. Ever since we showed her a DVD in the car on our way to North Carolina, she has quickly become obsessed with watching Sesame Street in the car. As soon as we put her in the car, she starts pointing to the DVD player and squealing with delight. I love watching her in the mirror and seeing her smile during funny parts with Big Bird or Elmo.
e. She is slowly becoming a better eater. We found the trick is to let her feed herself.

Dreams really do come true...
When Rob asked me what I would like for my 30th Birthday in August, I provided two answers...
1. A nap (this was back when AP wasn't sleeping well)
2. The opportunity to meet Natalie Morales from the Today Show
Thanks to my amazing husband and incredible in-laws, #2 has just recently been checked off the list!
Fun Facts during my "surprise trip"
a. I was 100% star struck when I met Natalie and only mumbled "hello" and giggled like a nervous little girl when she came over to say hi.
b. AP was much bolder. When Natalie greeted her, she took Natalie's script from her hands and threw one of the sheets on the floor.
c. Natalie is gorgeous in person!
d. The set appears much larger on TV.
e. Rob's Mom and I went to use the restroom in between sets and as we were leaving, we ran into Kathie Lee Gifford coming into the bathroom! Rob's Mom acted like she has known Kathie for years and even had a quick conversation with her. I (similar to meeting Natalie) was too star struck to say anything and only mumbled "you are beautiful" like an awkward person when we left.
f. Most amazing day ever! Thank you to everyone who made this possible!

On the set and yes, that is the production schedule I am holding. |
Natalie and the girls (notice AP holding her script) |
Happy 30th Birthday to me! I look really goofy (and very ugly) when compared to Natalie. |
Just catching up with my girl. |
Behind the scenes during the cooking segment. |
A bit nervous to go on set...notice Natalie in the background... |
