13 Months

It is very hard to believe that Ashleigh is now "over one." We have officially left the baby stage and entered toddler world. Due to the fact that Ashleigh will not sit still for two seconds, I will no longer have her pose every month with her bunny, but I will still continue to post updates each month.

What's new with AP?

Food
Ashleigh isn't the best eater. In fact, she doesn't eat a whole lot (no wonder she is in the 5% range for weight). She would much rather play with her toys and walk around than eat in her high chair. It is a struggle to have her sit during dinner and we try to get as much food in her as possible. Girlfriend loves to snack and her favorites include Cheerios, Gerber nutri grain bars and puffs.

Sleeping
We finnnallllyy have a good streak in sleeping. We pray this continues and she keeps sleeping through the entire night.

Buddies
Ashleigh has three favorite toys that she absolutely loves. It is so cute to see her face light up and hear her squeal when you hand over these toys. She will grab them from your hands and hug them really tight.

#1 Most favorite... Lady Bug Friend
#2 Mr. Lion
#3 Aunt Maura Doll

School friend: she has a monkey friend that she will carry around with her

Health
Unfortunately, Ashleigh will under go ear tube surgery and the removal of her adenoids in a few weeks. Please keep her in your prayers. After a trip to the ENT, and learning that her hearing scores were low and she has a constant runny nose, the Doctor felt it was best to go this direction. We are all thinking positive about this procedure and we just want to see her healthy.

Discipline
Unfortunately, Ashleigh is not a good listener. I know what you are thinking...maybe she can't hear you (refer to the above post). No, little Miss does hear us say 'no' but refuses to acknowledge us. I even had her teacher at school tell me that they were having problems with her not listening on occasion. If she starts to do something that she is not suppose to do, we will give her a "No, no, no." She will pause, look at you, smile & laugh and keep doing what she was doing. She will try and climb everything in sight and touch/pull everything she is not suppose to do. Her new favorite game... flipping the dog water dishes. She thinks it is hilarious to pick up Lexi's water dish and flip it over. Yep, real fun! Despite these minor issues, she is the love of our life and we couldn't be happier with our princess. She is such a joy and I look forward to many fun memories this summer.

Happy 13 months little one!
